Ana Milenkovic (b. 1988, Belgrade) lives and works in London. She holds an MFA from Wimbledon College of Arts, University of the Arts London, as well as an MFA and BFA from the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Arts in Belgrade. Milenkovic is the recipient of the UAL/Clifford Chance Sculpture Award, the Griffin Art Prize, and the Prize for Innovation from the Milos Bajic Fund. She is a studio artist at Studio Voltaire, London, and the founder and creative director of Hammer & Hardie mosaic studio. Her work explores how ordinary objects and people can take on symbolic meaning, and how society constructs ideas of importance and power. Responding to the fast pace and overload of contemporary media, her practice is not rooted in anger or cynicism, but seeks quiet, thoughtful moments - spaces where viewers can pause, reflect, and form their own emotional responses. At its core, her work examines heroism, authenticity, and integrity, approached from a personal perspective as she navigates social expectations and ideas of greatness.
